Fujitsu Amilo SA 3650 AMD Dual Core Powered Notebook

Fujitsu has many ranges of Notebook family. This time I want to review the new Fujitsu Amilo SA 3650, AMD Powered Notebook. This notebook by its specifications is using the AMD X2, Dual Core technology. Its not the latest processor, but for daily computing, this laptop is good enough.

Amilo SA 3650 features 13.3 inch WXGA display with BrilliantView Technolgy and using the ATI Radeon HD 3200 with shared memory. You can choose the disk capacity from 250 GB, 350 or 500 GB and the maximum memory supported is up to 4 GB (2 DIMMs). most of today’s notebooks are capable to play high definition videos, but this Amilo SA 3650 is not yet support that technology. In my opinion, Fujitsu Amilo SA 3650 has an old fashioned design and its thick.

At the first, I can tell you that I don’t really like this car design generally. There is not much different with the 2009 version of Toyota 4Runner. But I think this opinion is not fully correct since the new edition of Toyota 4Runner 2010 edition is an improvement of the 4Runner 2009. This car is now has a freshened style, more power and updated engine. The Toyota 4Runner is using 5 speed transmission to transfer the 236 horsepower from a standard 4.0 liter V6 engine. Also available the Limited 4X4 V8 is equipped with a standard 4.7-liter, V8, 260-horsepower engine that achieves 14-mpg in the city and 17-mpg on the highway.

The 2010 4Runner is designed with outdoor enthusiasts and family adventures in mind. Now in its fifth generation, the 4Runner is far more rugged than the Camry-based Highlander crossover and more versatile than the two-door FJ Cruiser. The small Proton Emas Hybrid 2010 Review

Proton really needs an interesting new hit to win back market share they have lost over the last few years. Perhaps that is why they selected the name "Emas," which translates from Malay into English as "gold." Concept cars are generally done as a ‘what if’ exercise and to gauge public perception and interest before moving ahead with the production version. This is why the one big question put forth at the Proton Concepts microsite is “would you like this to be the future of Proton”. According to Datuk Syed Zainal, it may take another 2 years before we can see a production version of the Proton EMAS on the roads.

A series hybrid is basically an electric car, as long as you have enough juice in the battery packs for the electric motor to function. The Proton EMAS Concept has a range of 50km, which is shorter than the i-MiEV’s 160km range. But note that it isn’t an apple to apple comparison – the i-MiEV’s 160km range is calculated based on the Japanese 10-15 urban mode driving cycle, while Proton’s 50km range is not specified. It might be a mixed mode range or a ‘best effort’ range.

What I want to know now is how efficient the engine is in burning petrol to generate electricity. How many km can the car go on the electricity generated by 1 liter of petrol? That will give us a “km per liter” measurement for when the car is not running on plug-in power. Look after the jump for 4 pix of the engine.

Volkswagen already released the new Volkswagen Sharan. This 4-doors car will be sold with a choice between four engines. The diesel line-up of the 2011 Volkswagen Sharan include two TDI (with a 2.0 TDI) developing 103kW / 140PS and 125kW / 170PS, while the petrol models include two TSI turbo engines developing 110kW / 150PS and 147kW / 200PS. The 2011 Volkswagen Sharan’s drive and handling matches the levels of comfort and dynamic response provided by the excellent Passat. Added convenience and safety is provided by an electronic handbrake and the second-generation parking manoeuvre assistant. This means automatic steering for parking in even smaller spaces, including on pavements, between trees and even on corners, plus now, for the first time on an MPV. Sharan still can't perform the seven-people-with-luggage trick, and the seats are heavy to move. Some smaller MPVs are more versatile and cost less. The company can also offer fixed-price servicing and maintenance plans to private and business customers, but on one condition: the customer takes out finance from Volkswagen.

The third generation Sharan is the company’s first MPV range to be designed by Walter de Silva (Group Chief Designer) and Klaus Bischoff (Brand’s Chief Designer) based totally on the new Volkswagen design DNA matrix. The design of the vehicle body, which is both appealing and functional, is thus epitomised by clear, horizontal lines. It is fresh, yet certainly not dictated by any transient fashion. While the last model had a dull grey finish on the mirror caps, front and rear spoilers, these parts now have a glossy black honeycomb appearance. Also different are the LED daytime lights at the front, which now extend further while showing a different pattern. The TechArt Formula five-spoke light alloys are different, and are available in 19- and 20-inch versions.

The Apple iPod nano has been through a lot. It’s now in its fifth generation and it’s as slim as ever. Decked in nine colours with two of them exclusive only to the Apple Online store, we’re pretty sure you’ll be able to find a color that suits you best. You’ll get either 8GB or 16GB of storage on the iPod nano as well.

Our review unit is clad in orange and is capable of storing 16GB of songs or video. We’re not too sure about you but despite trying our best, we can only manage about 10GB of files in the nano so it’s safe to say that 16GB is more than enough storage for an average user.

Favi RIOLED-Q and RIOLED-V pico projectors launched: the future is bright, wireless

Looks like the world's still got appetite for some more pico projectors, as Favi's releasing a pair some time between late February and early March for prices yet unknown. First is the RIOLED-Q (pictured) which sports a pretty 800 x 600 native resolution at 50 lumens -- supposedly the best brightness in class (like the Optoma PK301), along with built-in SD / MMC card reader, battery, three-watt stereo speaker and an ever-so-handy digital keystone correction. Joining the party is the smaller RIOLED-V which is shy about its display specification, but proudly packs a card reader and WiFi to cater its various web apps for YouTube, Flickr, Picasa, Yahoo News, Weather, Email, Internet Radio and web browser. Too bad it doesn't do phone calls.

World at War: Zombies delivers too little for too much

Call of Duty: World at War was a great game, even though it tread where so many other FPSs had gone before. The finest part of this title, though, was arguably the unlockable co-op "Nazi Zombies" mode that pit players against, well, Nazi zombies. Now, we get to take the best part of World at War on the go with us, but the game is a bit too pricey for the amount of content it contains.

Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies puts players in extremely familiar territory: you have to defend a bunker against the undead hordes trying to invade. The bunker defense is based on the "Nacht der Untoten" map and uses the standard controls for an iPhone action/shooter game (a virtual thumbstick controls movement, the camera is tweaked by dragging the finger across the screen, and firing/zooming in is handled with some virtual buttons), so anyone who's looking for a brand new zombie-killing experience isn't going to be too amazed. That said, the gameplay mechanics are solid and easy to get the hang of, and running around the map to kill zombies and repair/place barriers over entrances will keep you busy.

Canon 5D Mark II First Look-Photos and Review

After the somewhat disappointing performance of the Canon 50D skepticism runs high. The 15.1MP 50D was expected to take the resolution crown in the APS-C market, but instead it basically tied with the 12MP D300/D90/Sony A700. This is certainly not a poor performance by any means, but it did not match Canon's marketing claims, and it brought into question Canon's claims about the performance of their new sensors.

The new camera has a feature called "Higlight Tone Priority", which seems to be turned on when it ships. If that was turned on, the noise levels presented are actually worse than they could be:
HTP choses a lower ISO setting and then underexposes to frame. It later applies a curve to increase exposure again but through that process increases noise since dark areas are being boosted!

The Sony Ericsson Aino has a pretty straightforward blocky rectangular design. Still, it does have rounded edges and a matte chassis that is quite attractive. There are only two reasons to buy the Sanyo Xacti VPC-WH1, but they're good reasons: It's inexpensive ($400 as of 9/25/09), and it's waterproof. For some people, those two factors will offset the camera's mediocre image quality.

Compared with footage from the best 1080p HD camcorders, the VPC-WH1's 720p HD video (at 30 frames per second) exhibits noticeably--but not disastrously--reduced resolution, sharpness, color accuracy, and motion. The VPC-WH1's overall video image quality is middling. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the camera's 1.1-megapixel still images, which suffer from low resolution, inaccurate exposure, and noticeable image distortion.

Bought this camera for our vacation in Cuba. This is a GOOD camera! Not great but good. My only complaint would be that it is difficult to see the screen when filming underwater. You almost have to guest where the subject is. I took it snorkling and managed to get some great videos. the IS was good underwater but when using it out of the water it’s not that great after 10x zoom. For the price I paid for it, it was a good investment. As for Eliza, I would take it back to the store where you bought it and return or exchange the camera. It may have be that the screws that seal the body were just not tight enough. Or the seals were defective.

First off, this VPC-WH1 shoots 1280×720 HD video at 30fps. That means all your underwater video is going to look very good (compared to what’s out there at this level) on both Vimeo and YouTube–providing you have great lighting to accompany you. The VPC-WH1 does not have a video light of any sort, so that means that some of your images may turn out a bit noisy. In this case, Sanyo’s 3D DNR image noise reduction technology won’t be able to help you because the image becomes softer: meaning that whatever you shoot underwater in theory will look even softer than it already might. Additionally, the 2.5-inch LCD (not very high resolution) might not be able to help you out very well. Once again though, we haven’t tried it yet, but I’d recommend finding good lighting.

For true HD output, the BD-HP 20A Blu-Ray player connects to your HDTV via a HDMI port and will stream video at true 1080p at 24 frames per second. The HDMI port also stream Dolby TrueHD 7.1 surround audio if your A/V system supports it. If not, you can still use the BD-HP20A Blu-Ray player 5.1 analog RCA output which is compatible with most systems today. Should your TV not have a HDMI input, the BD-HP20A Blu-Ray player also has component outputs.

With most Blu-ray players taking an absolute eternity to load their discs, a definite highlight of the BD-HP20A's features list has to be its "Quick Start" function, which can have a Blu-ray disc loaded from standby in literally seconds. Hallelujah.
The deck's connectivity contains a couple of goodies, too. The HDMI, for instance, is built to the latest 1.3a specification, meaning it can output Deep Color (should this picture-boosting format actually ever appear on a disc) and studio-grade Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel surround sound. There's also a component-video output capable of progressive and upscaled DVD feeds, and a service port for, potentially, upgrading the HP20A's firmware.

I bought this a few months ago. Contrary to the review by CTNET Asia with regard to the poor DVD upscaling, I find that the player upscales dvds very well indeed - albeit tested at 1080i only - my 46" JVC full-HD model does not accept 1080p inputs). I was also pleasantly surprised when I find that it also plays all dvds except those with code 2 (from the UK which are not many). I have since been using this player for my dvds as well. As for Blu-ray content, I have not encountered any problem with the playing of any Blu-ray disk to date (without any firmware update). All in all, I'm fully satisfied with this player which I thought may be under-rated.

Internally, the BD player handles Blu-Ray discs, naturally. Should you be short on Blu-Rau movies, the BD-HP 20A Blu-Ray player will also play your regular DVDs and upscale them to 1080p. The resulting upscaled output will never be as good as actual HD movies, but it’s better than nothing.

Blu-Ray discs generally take forever to startup the first time. But the BD-HP20A Blu-Ray player has a Quick-Start feature that keeps the program info in memory while in standby mode, so the next time will be faster. Navigating the player and and your movies is via the remote control and easy-to-navigate on screen menus.

The Dell XPS 710 H2C Desktop PC has been built into the familiar XPS 700 chassis and has a very intimidating chassis with a love-it or hate-it styling. We are not hesitant to call the PC a monster because of its big size and the loud whooshing sound that it makes as you hit over the power button. Acer’s Veriton L series of commercial desktop have been a trendsetter in term of its design and extremely small footprint. The new Aspire L3600 brings the same technology to consumers and continues to up the ante with a new chipset and faster processors which translates into better overall performance. This 3-litre Ultra Small Form Factor (USFF) design is particularly popular in certain markets like in workplaces with space constraints, but it is also gaining acceptance in the living room, thanks to its great looks and space-saving design. It also meets Intel’s VIIV platform requirements, but unfortunately this is not a good news to everybody because VIIV related online services are only available in North America.

Acer Aspire L3600 desktop computer is a small form factor media centre PC with a lot of Intel parts inside and hence comes with a Viiv (a platform initiative from Intel similar to Intel’s Centrino and vPro) badge.

Inside the PC:

When you split open the L3600, you will find a 500GB 7200RPM SATA drive, an Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4GHz, with 2GB of memory, all running off the integrated Intel G31 express chipset. A slot loading DVD drive handles the multimedia duties. And the inputs include a multi-card reader, two front side USB 2.0 ports and headphone socket hidden by a front flap.

Features:

The rear side sports 4 USB ports out of which two will be used in default for the keyboard and mouse and also the VGA and DVI ports. The HDMI is absent which is undesirable as it is a media center PC. The L3600 handles audio separately which was prominent with its usage of DVI. It handles the audio separately through the six audio jacks coming from the rear side of the unit. It also supports 1 MB cache memory and hence you can overwrite DVDs using DVD rewriter which has come with dual layer. The package includes a memory card reader which has the ability to read 4 distinct types of memory cards.

Despite its small size, Acer provides a whole range of ports and connectors. This includes six USB 2.0 ports (two in fron, four at the rear), two Firewire port, Gigabit Ethernet, a DVI as well as an analogue D-Sub VGA port. There are five audio-out ports plus a microphone jacks. There’s also a multi-format card reader here. The Aspire L3600 has an FM/TV tuner card so there are also coaxial connectors for external antennas. Users can also plug in an S-Video or Composite video signal via a breakout cable(which is provided). The 320GB Western Digital Caviar SE hard disk drive should prove to be big enough for most users and the slot loading Pioneer DVR-K06RS DVD writer further helps reduce the unit’s size. Using a notebook hard disk would have freed up more spaces, but these are more expensive and capacities above 160GB are still quite rare and rather expensive.

There are a few factors that make a printer ‘portable’ such as the footprint of the product meaning the size and the weight. The PIXMA iP100 scores high on this by being relatively light and compact, making it easy to carry around with a bag. Another important factor would be whether it can be wireless or not. While being light and compact is one thing, if it is possible to eliminate the use of wires all together, will be much better. Though optional, it is possible to get a Bluetooth adapter for the PIXMA iP100 (which is quite pricey as far as we know), which will allow you to send print commands to your printer wirelessly through not only a computer, but also PDAs or mobile devices. Not only that, any compatible digital camera, mobile phone with camera, or DV camcorder can use the PIXMA iP100’s PictBridge technology to directly via USB to print photos without the need of a computer. Along with the rechargeable lithium ion battery included, it is possible to use the iP100 without any wires.

With a maximum of 9600 DPI, quality will not be found wanting from the PIXMA iP100. For printer cartridges, two are needed for the iP100: 1 black as well as another based on Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and a Photo Black color for better shades in photo prints. Text prints are decently fast at roughly 9.6 ppm though colored prints, especially prints with a lot of objects on it, are on the slower side at 5.1 ppm. Since the nano uses flash based storage, it’s perfect for those who workout regularly while listening to music. Apple is still using the Nike+ on some of their products but with the nano, you can use the built in pedometer to count the calories burnt based on the step you’ve taken. While we are no dieticians, we’ll assume that the calories burnt are accurate. The pedometer logged about 9 out of 10 steps we’ve taken and sometimes, it logged in about 11 out of 10. We guess it should be accurate if average out.

The Apple iPod nano fifth generation is an improvement over its predecessors with the built in camera and its larger screen. We love the pedometer feature which made us realize how inactive we are. The camera placing is odd and it needs some getting used to.

With its stylish, Imprint-finish chassis, excellent audio output, and remote control, the 14-inch HP Pavilion dv4-1555dx is best suited for students and others who might rank multimedia consumption above productivity pursuits. Detracting from its appeal as a general-purpose, workhorse laptop are its poor battery life, glossy display, clacky keyboard, and chrome-finish touch pad.

The Pavilion dv4-1555dx weighs in at 5.4 pounds--heavy for its size. The 14-inch Toshiba Satellite E105 weighs an average 5 pounds, and the 14-inch Dell Inspiron 1470-3282 weighs a trim 4.6 pounds. The Pavilion dv4-1555dx's extra heft lends it a solid feel, though we'd describe the build quality as only average. The chassis flexes and creaks a bit, and the keyboard is clacky. The glossy, keys feel lighter than a ThinkPad or an Inspiron keyboard, and they don't have as soft a feel.

The touch pad, too, doesn't provide the best feel; continuing a Pavilion trend, the touch pad features a chrome finish that creates drag against your fingertip when swiping to and fro. And like the rest of the glossy chassis, the touch pad is a magnet for fingerprints. It's also narrower than the norm, measuring 3 inches wide and only 1.5 inches tall, but it does feature a wide and responsive vertical scroll area along its right edge. Lastly, we experienced some unexpected cursor jumps when our hand or finger grazed the touch pad. We suggest disabling the "tapping" feature to eliminate this problem.

HP Mediasmart Server LX195 is well designed to accommodate your needs to home server. Basically, I really like the ability to use this server to remotely access files at home from work. It was also very valuable when I had to send someone a really large file, and just sent them a login I created specifically for them to my server to download the file. My only complaint is that my printer does not have a Windows Server 2003 driver available, so I can't set it up to be shared and essentially wireless from my laptop.
This one is very cool and quiet, it sits under my desk and I hardly know its there. Product functions as advertised and can be very easy to setup. I had a small installation issue with the software, and a call to HP was handled promptly and accurately. I have used the product for a week and enjoy the automation and security the software offers. I added a 2GB RAM upgrade easily and the results were great. Nice small hardware footprint, and low power use.

I've had the camera running for a day and it is very impressive. I shot my last feature doc on a Panasonic DVX100 and on another Panasonic 3CCD. And I just finished a project using a Sony HC9 and a Sony HD1000U. The FX1000 will help me achieve a deeper more vibrant look than the lesser expensive Sony cameras I've used. The color reproduction (just the negative) of the HC9 and 1000U did not compare well to the DVX100. I had to process a great deal in post. This was a tradeoff for HD with native 16:9 which everyone expects these days. It appears just looking at the footage in my NLE, that this FX1000 will give me very good color (as in raw right out of the camera). I did some tests in low light and no light (with three 3 watt on camera lights) and was extremely impressed. The manual gain is comparable to what I've experienced with the DVX. The other Sonys I've used have the touch screen menus (fingerprints on your LCD are such a bother). This was hard to get used to, but once you do, it isn't so bad. The FX1000 uses a scroll button for menu options which is located on the lower part of the camera body. This disconnect is going to take some getting used to (sans the fingerprints). But the assign buttons and the picture option button (for dialing in cinegamma settings) is nice and worked fluidly. This is the first camera I've used that has the cold shoe right in front of the LCD screen. I know that other Sonys have this feature, but I've only used the ones above. The reason I mention this is because when you put a light or mic on the cold shoe, it prohibits you from closing (or in the other case opening) the LCD screen.

ASUS G51VX-A1 Review

The G51 is part of the Republic of Gamers lineup from ASUS, meaning it incorporates the ROG logo on the front cover and a more aggressive notebook design. The outside cover has chrome trim around the side and bottom edges, and a futuristic pattern painted onto the lid; both helping to push the overall gaming theme. The sides are black plastic, with a silver strip painted on the sides and front of the notebook. You can tell these strips were painted separately, since you can see some faint overspray near the border edges. The inside of the G51 has a more back-to-basics look with a rubberized black palmrest, black backlit keyboard, and glossy black trim around the display. I personally think the design could have been helped by using the rubberized on more surfaces around the notebook, but that might be the ThinkPad fan inside of me talking.
The keyboard was comfortable to use, and really helped solidify the overall look of the notebook. The keys and inner trim were all matching black, with white lettering that lights up when the backlight is enabled. The individual keys were easy to press, and felt very solid with very little wiggle if you moved your hand around the keyboard. Support was very good, with no flex noticed in the primary typing region. The only complaint we have, is the size of the keyboard itself inside the tray area; it's small enough to move around and come out with little effort.

The T1i inherits the same technology as the higher-end 50D, packing the same-sized image sensor and DIGIC 4 processor, and giving a reviewer like myself reason to draw comparisons between the two cameras. Although technologically similar, the T1i and 50D are different in size, features, controls – and, of course, price. But it is interesting to see just how much of the 50D has made its way into the affordable T1i.

The T1i is similar in design to the traditional Rebel series consumer DSLR, like the XSi or XS, but trumps these cameras's features with more resolution and high-def video recording. The T1i is designed to offer any photographer, regardless of shooting experience, an easy-to-use camera that is capable of total control or just pointing and shooting. The original Rebel series was originally built around 35mm film cameras that featured fully automatic modes, and today's Rebels still carry on this same tradition with digital models.

The T1i feels larger in the hand than most Rebel series DSLRs I have shot with, giving it a more professional feel than I am used to from a consumer camera. However, the T1i has the classic SLR look and feel, and a little more hand room on the right hand grip with both a thumb grip on the exterior and also a rubber handgrip for the middle through pinky finger. The T1i has a solid construction that appears to be a mix of hard-cast rubber and aluminum alloy. The camera is well built and has a good construction, which is neither too cumbersome nor too small to comfortably carry around with you.
One of the T1i's strong suits is the shooting information that is displayed on the LCD. When using the optical viewfinder (as opposed to live view mode) you can view shutter speed, aperture, ISO, exposure compensation, flash exposure compensation, Picture Styles, white balance, metering, image quality settings, AF mode and drive mode all in one place. By clicking on the Set button you can change all of these settings directly from this screen. Note that not all of these functions are accessible, depending on your shooting mode; if you're in an automatic mode, you have less control, but if you're completely manual you can change all of these settings.

From the OM system 35mm SLRs and lenses to the XA series rangefinders and the half-frame Pen models, Olympus has for at least half a century been notable for producing cameras that are smaller than their competitors without sacrificing quality or functionality. And they haven't stopped; the E-450 and its predecessors are still the world's smallest digital SLRs, and the new E-620 is considerably smaller than similarly specified competitors (finally realizing the 'smaller format, smaller camera' promise we were all sold on when Four Thirds originally launched).

The apex of this miniaturization was surely the Pen F and its variants - the interchangeable lens versions of the hugely popular Pen series (over 17 million of the various models were sold between 1959 and the mid 80's when half-frame finally died out). A fully-fledged single lens reflex camera that was smaller than most rangefinders (thanks to its half frame film format), the Pen F was innovative, it was stylish and, in 1963 when it was launched, it was universally lauded, and 45 years later enjoys true classic status.
The E-P1 was intended for use with the remarkably small/lightweight M. Zuiko lenses, but it also accepts the full-size Micro Four Thirds lenses with an MMF-1 Olympus MMF-1 Four Thirds to Micro Four Thirds Adapter adapter ($180) and the old manual focus OM lenses with an MF-2 Olympus MF-2 OM Lens to Micro Four Thirds Adapter adapter ($170).

For those without major lens commitments to other brands the Sony A900 offers tremendous value for the money. In almost every objective test criteria measured on DxOMark the A900 comes in in the top two or three, and in many categories does so against camera either costing twice as much or offering half the resolution. While not the king of any one hill, it is a sterling all-around performer in almost every category.

When it comes to build quality and handling, the A900 has little to fault and much to like. Yes, I've bitched about a few things in the above review, but then there's always something to criticize, because no product is perfect. It just comes down to the compromises that one is will to make.

These are hard economic times for almost everyone, and the indications are that things are going to get tougher before they get any better. In that type of climate a good all-rounder at a competitive price is what's needed, and the Sony A900 DSLR offers just that, along with class leading resolution.
The Sony A900 is the flagship model in the company's alpha SLR line, and the only one offering a full-frame sensor. The camera body is built of magnesium alloy to take substantial abuse while maintaining a relatively light weight, though there's no denying that at 30 oz. (850g) without lens, this is a hefty piece of gear. All buttons, dials and other components are sealed against dust and moisture. The shutter is rated at 100,000 releases, probably as much as anyone is likely to require, but lower than the rated lifetime of the full-frame Canon 5D Mark II and Nikon D700, both of which promise 150,000 shots.

This is an amazing lens that offers excellent picture quality. This lens isn't for film camera. For film camera, get Nikon 16mm Fisheye. It has 10 optics elements in 7 groups and is solid metal built with plastic hood and front cap. This lens is made is Japan (you will mostly find lenses made either in Thailand or China). It is very light weight and uses a rear gel filter. There is already a slot for it, but you need cut the filter to slide in the slot. However, you don't need the filter. Just be careful when using it since you can't get a front filter to protect the lens.
