The 793D mining truck is the 2nd most powerful mining truck by Caterpillar under 797B series. It can carry up to 363 tons of materials. This Caterpillar 793D is powered by single Cat 3516B HD EUI engine that can produce 2337 hp of its net power and 2415 hp of rated power. The 793 D is an updated version of Caterpillar's proven 793. According to the Caterpillar literature & display presentation, this 240 ton truck incorporates many new improvements - including engine, fuel system, turbocharger, steering, etc. The most visible change is the pre-production lightweight dump body.

The 793D Mining Truck is available in five merchandising arrangements: • Standard - for balanced all-around performance • Extended Life Wheel Groups - for long, uphill hauls • Extra Top Speed - for long, flat hauls • High Altitude Arrangement - for operations above 2750 m (9,000 ft)
